Due to its ingenious design the scanner can be mounted and operated in any orientation and thus optimally adapted to the requirements of the operating environment. The RIEGL VZ-200 provides a unique and unrivalled combination of wide field-of-view, high accuracy, and extremely fast data acquisition.
High-performance pulsed laser ranging, based on RIEGL's state-of-the-art Waveform-LiDAR technology - offering echo signal digitization with subsequent online waveform analysis - results in accurate measurement capabilities with excellent multiple target echo discrimination. As the scanner operates at extremely high laser pulse repetition rates, laser ranging by pulsed time-of-flight ranging normally will become ambiguous. Industrial standard connectors and supply cables provide for a smooth integration into customer-specific systems.
RiVLIB, RIEGL's interface software library, accompanying RIEGL V-Line Laser Scanners, allows integrating the instrument in already existing software environments and workflows. Additional application-specific RIEGL software packages are offered, e.g. RiMONITOR for monitoring of terrain deformations by analyzing the changes of surfaces.

PH-4000/6000-SRH Protective Housings
The Protective Housing VZ-4000/6000-SRH is especially designed for using the VZ-4000 or VZ-6000 in harsh environments, e.g. for glacier monitoring. A hermetically-sealed housing, thermo-electric coolers and forced-air cooling allow operation under stabilized temperature conditions.
